ABORIGINAL AGED CARE PROGRAM
Tumake Yande is committed to the provision of effective services to Aboriginal Elders and their carers.

Objectives of the program:

  • To support the recommendations of the Regional Aboriginal Elders Advisory. Committee and to enable the provision of aged care services across the region.
  • To expand the current level of services used by Aboriginal families living in the region.
  • To promote services with other agencies in addressing the health, housing, and welfare needs of elderly Aboriginal people and their families.
  • To continue to promote Aboriginal culture as an important step in improving health outcomes for Aboriginal families.

 

Client’s eligibility and capability to receive services will be assessed by the Regional Coordinator, Tumake Yande the Aboriginal Aged Care Program.
 
A letter from the client’s doctor may be required.

Hours of service are between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).

Aboriginal Elders living on Ngarrindjeri Lands have a leading role to play in maintaining the cultural and social customs, and the well being of all families living in the region.  The influence that they possess through their knowledge, their ability to express and communicate, as well as their personal histories, cannot be measured.
