ABORIGINAL JUSTICE OFFICERS

Aboriginal Justice Officers (AJO's) are located at various Magistrates Courts within the Fines Payment Unit (FPU) to give specific help and to provide culturally appropriate assistance to the Community. AJO's can assist you with Court related matters, fine enquiries, payment options and requests for time to pay.

If you cannot afford to pay your fines in full, payment arrangements can be offered, based on your ability to pay. If you cannot afford to pay tour fine, then you may need to have a financial assessment to determine the best way to sort out the unpaid fines. As a result, you could also be referred to Court to appear before a Magistrate so he/she may determine an Alternate Penalty for your Court Fines.

I need help with:

  • Court fines and expiation notices
  • Payment options
  • Financial assessments
  • Court hearing dates
  • Various court procedures
  • Nunga Courts
  • Court Circuits at country areas
